Marianna in Peru
Marianna and Friends in Peru

PERU a life long dream comes true…I grew up living the life of a traveler throughout the pages of National Geographic until I could save enough money in my 20’s to travel the world on a shoestring.  I am so grateful and lucky to have been to many magnificent places but it took 40 years to finally make it to Peru.

During my travels this last July I was an insatiable sponge learning, sharing and hiking with the wonderful people of the Andes. It did not take long before I met an amazing family of jewelers who quickly welcomed me into their home and workshop.
The Collection I have brought back are carefully handmade pieces by this amazing group of artisans.  Each stone and piece of shell are carefully hand cut and polished before carefully being inlaid into silver.  The stones include Peruvian Turquoise, (Chrysocola), Sodalite, Purple and vibrant orange Spiny Oyster and Shell, all from the land of Peru and its oceans.
I am hoping that this is the beginning of a relationship where I can help support this family and their ancient skills.  We are now working together on developing new designs, possibly to bring to TV,  so stay tuned... and I welcome your feedback!
For the People of the Andes, jewelry, especially pendants, are  worn as  Amulets to protect the seven bodies and are thought to attract healing and harmonizing energy.  The stones incorporated into the design are not only symbolic but arethought to help eliminate any dense energies and amplify the natural abilities of theperson wearing it.
If you want to learn more about the symbology of these magnificent Peruvian pieces, please follow my blog.  Enjoy!
